Ovation Benefits to Host Workforce Health Dialogues in Farmington on May 11 and May 12
April 29, 2011
Farmington, CT - Ovation Benefits, a national leader in workforce health improvement and one of the largest independent benefits brokers in the country, has announced that they will be hosting two free half-day events in their corporate offices to provide prospective clients with an opportunity to take a deeper dive into the organization's Workforce Health strategies. The “Workforce Health Dialogues” will be held on Wednesday, May 11th and Thursday, May 12th from 8:30am to 12:00pm.
The concept of Workforce Health has become a cornerstone of the Ovation Benefits approach to reducing healthcare costs for employers and ultimately a strategy which saves lives. Ovation's Medical Director Dr. Charles Taylor, MD has brought thirty years of medical experience to bear on the challenge of rising health care costs. He says, “The solution is identifying, assessing and supporting employees with chronic disease and getting them to goal. We know that through supportive interventions we can improve employee healthin many cases not just reducing but reversing such illnesses as diabetes, heart disease and some cancers.”
The Workforce Health Dialogues will feature a conversation with Dr. Taylor who will provide a backdrop for Ovation's Workforce Health initiatives. In addition, current clients will be on hand to discuss how these strategies helped them to significantly reduce costs associated with large healthcare claims. “The saving money part is nice,” says Terri Forman, a Human Resources executive formerly with TI Automotive. “But what's better is the fact that you can actually save a life in the process.”
“Our ultimate vision here is to support employers in getting their folks to goal,” says Bill Mauke, Ovation's Workforce Health Practice Leader. “We know from experience what it takes to position employers so that they can realize cost savings and improve the lives of their employees at the same time.”
Attendees need only register for one of the two events, as they will provide the same content each session. The ½ day event is designed to be intimate, with approximately 30 people in attendance. This will give participants full opportunity to speak with Ovation's Workforce Health Team, Dr. Taylor and with Ovation's current clients. A panel discussion, guest remarks, a video conference and time for networking prior to and following the event will encourage a healthy dialogue.
